Review: Popular netbook that shines because of its sleek and portable form factor and 6-cell battery, which is ideal for students and travelers that don’t always have access to a power outlet. The system is equipped with an 8.9” LCD screen, 1.6 Ghz Atom processor, 1GB Ram, and a large 160GB hard drive that spins at 5400RPM. Other neat features include a multi-format memory card reader, wireless networking, and 3 USB ports. Bootup and shutdown times are excellent, and there’s plenty of power for basic computing needs.

Recieved 4 StarsGreat little gadget, September 29, 2008

I've had mine for 3 days now, and it's been really hard to put down and walk away from. Obviously the poratability of it is a big reason, but also because the 6 cell battery lasts so long that I feel like I can just leave it on for a while without feeling the need to keep powering it down or charging it all the time. Also, boot up and shutdown...read full review

Recieved 5 StarsDoes More Than I'd Hoped..., October 1, 2008

(This review is for the 6-cell onyx/black version.) As is the case with most who purchase this system, I'm not interested in doing anything requiring a lot of raw power: I bought it because its portability means I can easily cart it to class or the library. It's smaller - though slightly more heavy - than my average textbook, so I simply throw it...read full review

Recieved 5 StarsCompact, decent performance, long battery life. , October 6, 2008

Acer was probably the first company to offer this level of performance in a "netbook". With an Atom processor, 1gb of ram, a 160gb hard drive, a 6 cell battery and Windows XP home, it's a pretty credible unit if you don't mind a slightly small keyboard.

I already had a 17" Dell 9300, but after seeing the original eee realized I'd...read full review

Recieved 5 StarsAcer One: Best Little NetBook Made These Days (12/2008)!, December 7, 2008

Where to start this review is the question, because I have a LOT to say about it, so I guess I'll begin by saying, repeating rather, my synopsis: the Acer One 1.6Ghz/1GB/160GB/6-Cell 5700mAh battery feature set gives Acer by far the best, finest, and most versatile, best-performing Netbook being made right now, and that includes a LOT of other...read full review
