Best known for their high-end amplifiers and speakers, Aguilar has now moved into the effects business, and they've come up with a real winner. The AGRO adds fat, solid distortion to your bass without sacrificing any bottom end. Along with a Saturation (distortion) control, it also has a midrange Contour control (mid cut or boost), Presence (for definition) and Output (volume) control. Both versatile and easy to use, it allows you to add anything from a bit of tube overdrive to a wall of noise. Rating: 4.5/5
