Alpine CDE-141 CD/MP3 Car Stereo Receiver with Front Aux Input and USB
The CDE-141 helps to bring Alpine's excellent sound quality within reach, as this entry-level stereo features a price tag under $150. While this means that this stereo comes mostly with basic features (leaving out options such as Bluetooth), it's equipped with front-panel auxiliary and USB inputs that can connect devices such as your iPhone/iPod. The stereo buttons can be used to directly control a connected iPhone/iPod using Alpine's App Direct Mode. An 18 watt RMS built-in amplifier and a 3-band parametric equalizer presents ample performance; the high and low pass filters and a subwoofer phase switch allow plenty of flexibility with output. If you're looking to expand your system using this stereo as a base, the 4-channel, 2-volt preamp outputs fall a bit short, so you may want to look into a slightly more expensive option like the CDE-147BT . However, for a basic car stereo with top-notch sound, the Alpine CDE-141 is hard to beat.
