The Bluetooth technology works to wirelessly connect any Bluetooth enabled device, such as a cell phone or iPod (Touch or other models with adapter) to the speakers. The speakers run on either AA batteries or a built in power adapter, which means that speaker system is ultra portable. For a price of around $97, this pair of speakers is on the high end of budget Bluetooth speakers, but the sound quality and design make up for the higher price.
