Why it's best:
Asus' foray into the P55 chipset has been solid with their P7P55D series of motherboards. This particular model, the P7P55D, is the "middle" model with a good selection of features, board layout, and the quality control expected from Asus motherboards. It offers two PCIe x16 slots (one at full x16, the other at x4), two PCIe x1 slots, three PCI slots, 8 USB ports, 7 SATA 3.0Gbps ports, 8-channel audio, RAID functionality, eSATA, and Gigabit Ethernet. An interesting feature to note for this motherboard is its 12+2 power phase design for the CPU, which allows for very regulated and stable power to the CPU, enhancing overclockability of the motherboard. For its price, the Asus P7P55D is a solid motherboard with a great selection of features and capabilities, and is sure to be the #1 choice for many prospective P55 systems.
