Audio-Technica ATLP120USB Turntable with USB output
The Audio-Technica AT-LP120 USB takes many cues from the fabled Technics 1200 series of turntables, and that's a good thing. This is a direct-drive turntable with a DC motor offering pitch control (up to 20 percent up or down) and the ability to play at 33 1/3, 45, and 78 RPM. It can even play in reverse. The main benefit of this is changing the direction of rotation when cleaning your records, or perhaps trying to find secret messages in your '70s metal. Speed control is good, with wow and flutter ratings at less than 0.2 percent.
This A-T turntable has an aluminum platter with strobe speed indicator and slip mat. The S-tonearm and included cartridge track well. And , with a removable universal headshell, you can easily swap out cartridges or, by purchasing additional headshells, create different setups for playing different types of records. An A-T 95E cartridge, antiskate compensation and a cueing lever complete the tonearm configuration. With both USB outputs and switchable built-in phono preamp, the LP120 USB is ready to connect to either your stereo system or computer. Keep in mind that the Audio-Technica, while looking like a 1200, is not built to the same level of fit and finish, and is not really a DJ table either. However, for a mid-priced turntable with a lot of features, the AT-LP120 USB is hard to beat.
