Best 30" LCD Monitor Overall

(June 29, 2009)

30" LCDs are unique in that many of them lack controls and resolution scaling capability.  Because of their huge size, they are pricey and difficult to drive in terms of electronics.  We will look at the best performers, price not being a big factor, in the 30" LCD sector.  They should have wide viewing angles, high contrast, and decent response time.  Since they're expensive, they should have a wide range of inputs and features, although if they don't have this they should at least perform well.  30" LCDs require a dual-link DVI hookup unless you want to run them at a lower resolution.

Why it's a best pick:
This cheaper Dell LCD is much like the 3008WFP but lacks most controls and connectivity. It has the same IPS quality panel and good response time. It provides excellent image quality in a barebones package and does have a USB hub and media card reader. The 3007WFP-HC is k... read full review

Why it's a best pick:
The 305T is another quite cheaper choice and it tends to have higher contrast due to its S-PVA panel, but lower viewing angle stability.  It has a USB hub tilt, swivel, and mount support.  The worst part is that it only has one DVI input.  ... read full review
