Best Auto Insurance Company
Consumers who are shopping for car insurance are often faced with a bewildering number of auto insurers, each promising the most attractive rates, the best customer service and the speediest action on your claim. But even then it can be difficult to compare policies as some insurers offer the lowest rate in collision coverage while others seem to win out in fire, theft or other categories.
A handful of car insurers sell their policies in just one state, others operate on a regional basis, while some are truly national in scope, offering coverage in most if not all fifty states and the District of Columbia. My best picks, however, are more national in scope and write their policies in the majority of the states. USAA, whose reputation is absolutely stellar was not included because they limit their service to military personnel and their families.
Just so you know, I didn't base my picks on the lowest price, rather I considered other factors including policy offerings, ease of contacting the insurer as well as billing and payment options. Finally, please keep in mind that some insurers are stronger in one state while weaker in the next. But, my top five picks offer a good glimpse at insurers who are worthy of a closer look, perhaps just the right companies you'll want to contact for your auto insurance needs.

Founded by Sears, Roebuck & Co. in 1931, becoming a publicly traded company in the early 1990s, Allstate is one of the largest insurers in the US, immediately behind State Farm. But, the company hasn't been without controversy, employing what some consider to be a heavy...
