Why it's best: Originally released in 1984, the Koss PortaPro headphones still remain a favorite today. For around $35, the PortaPros deliver excellent sound quality throughout their entire range. These retro over-ear headphones are also very comfortable with plenty of cushion and an adjustable “Comfort Zone” that releases or increases tension. They fold up for portability and easy transportation. One drawback, however, is that they easily leak noise and allow for a good amount of ambient noise to disturb your musical experience because of their semi-open design. But if you’re in the right listening environment, you’ll be able to truly appreciate their excellent sound quality. Best of all, it comes with a lifetime warranty that allows you to send in the headphones for any reason for a free replacement. Read Full Review

However, those with long hair tend to complain about their hair getting snagged in the plastic strap. With their cheap price tag, the Sony MDR-V150s are a great alternative to more expensive pairs.
