                      Best Paintable Caulk:

Paintable, or painter’s caulk, is just general-purpose caulk that can be painted over safely. It’s designed to work on surfaces where painters commonly find themselves painting, such as wood, plaster, drywall and ceramic. Safety is always a priority when it comes to caulk and any home improvement projects, for that matter. So, every one of the best painter’s caulks I have listed below is acrylic, or water-based. This makes each one safer to use than polyurethane caulk because they’re non-toxic. It also allows each one to be cleaned up with soap and water while still wet.

Furthermore, as briefly mentioned above, every caulk below must work on a wide variety of different surfaces commonly encountered by painters. This is so that the caulk will adhere to whatever surface you’re working on so you can paint over it.

Finally, every caulk below comes in a 10 or 10.1 ounce tube instead of the 5 or 6 ounce hand squeeze tube and aerosol caulk. This is so all the caulks can be used with a caulking gun, making application as easy as possible.

                              Best Colored Caulk:

Colored caulk is caulk that either comes in a wide variety of colors, or is able to be customized to any color. It’s primarily used by those that need a sealant or adhesive for a job that must match colored paints or backsplashes where the colors of said surfaces aren’t among those most commonly found in people’s houses like white, black or brown. Every caulk below is available as such.

Furthermore, every caulk I have included below comes in a cartridge around 10 ounces that can fit in most caulk guns commercially available. I feel like caulk guns are the easiest and best way to apply caulk, so the 10 ounce tubes are more convenient.

Finally, every caulk I have included below can be cleaned up with soap and water. This is so that if you’re working on painted surfaces, you don’t have to use mineral spirits if you make a mistake (which could potentially harm your colorful paint).
