Best Chapstick

June 23, 2011
I tried chapstick when I was kid on a ski vacation once. Just once. I hated the waxy feel, the white film it left on my lips, which didn’t feel any more moisturized and certainly not less chapped. I avoided any sort of lip balm from that point forward, choosing to coat my lips with lip-gloss instead, which was much more emollient and hydrating. Fortunately a friend of mine, distracted by my constantly glossy, shiny puckers, held me down and forced me to try a modern day lip balm. While I haven’t given up the glosses permanently, I have started wearing lip balms to nourish and treat my dry lips. I have to admit, lip balm has come along way. The best chapsticks below are emollient without being oily, and healing without leaving any nasty waxy residue behind.

Lypsyl is my newest favorite chapstick. It penetrates the dryness and really moisturizes.

I totally agree! It is the best chapstick ever. I like the medicated, burning sensation because I know that its working. however, it is very addictive and a bit pricey, but I love it!! Compared with carmex and other brands, I love it!!!!!

I personally prefer using Aquaphor oinment over any regular lip balm.  BTW - I would suggest renaming this category to "best lip balm" seeing as "chapstick" is actually a brand name.

Carmex by far is the best!!!  Doesn't get all nasty in your car when it gets hot out, plus it just simply works the best on chapped lips and even for them disease infected people with cold sores.

Blistex Lip Medex "In the blue dish" is just as good, but it literally gets like liquid in your car on a hot summer day!!  Pisses me off more than anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
