Best Guitar Flanger
When I was fist starting out, I could never quite figure out what was going on with Flangers. Phase Shifters were easy to figure out; there is an obvious cycle to the effect, and the change in rate is very easy to detect, even when the effect is low in the mix. But Flange? I just could not verbalize what was really happening. Fortunately, someone finally spelled it out for me: two delayed signals running out of sych… Got it! It was then that I really started to understand this “Endless” feeling of the Flange. There is a cycle, but because there are two, there is a feeling of endlessness. Once you start messing around with the regeneration and delay time, you have some serious fun on you hands. If you really want to hear the Flange effect at its best, listen to the intro of “Hear about it later” from Van Halen’s “Fair Warning”. If you want to buy the best Flange pedal on the market, simply read on.

Why it's a best pick:
“Cool”. If I had to sum this pedal up in one word, that would be it. It is really two pedals in one as it has dedicated inputs for both guitar and bass. The real top-ten hit here is the “momentary mode” option that turns the flanging effect on instant... read full review

Why it's a best pick:
The FL9 is a classis that just keeps on putting out. I owned my first one when I was 17, and to this day, it is still one of the most flexible and affordable flange pedals. What always stands out for me with this pedal is that when you play around with the regeneration and d... read full review
