Factory satellite radio will continue to function with this device, so I'm not sure what you meant to imply when you said "...if you've got factory satellite radio installed, this takes its place".

 Will this work with my 05 dodge ram 2500 nav rb1 radio?

this part does work in GM, Ford, Nissan, Toyota, VW, Subaru, Honda, Acura, Lexus, Infiniti, Saab, Hummer,
Will not work in Chrysler, Dodge.
