Got a typical new microwave oven (Emerson 700 watt), which I installed in my RV. Works fine. Came with monster-thick GLASS plate, which automatically rotates in the oven. Want to REPLACE that damn glass plate with a QUIET PLASTIC plate, because the glass plate RATTLES loudly when I drive my RV down the road. QUESTION: Is such a factory-origin GLASS PLATE an integral component behind the orderly dispersion of MICROWAVES within the oven proper??? Or, is such a glass plate merely intended as a secure PLATFORM for supporting food items within the oven, and, as such, has nothing at all to do with the uniform dispersion of the microwaves proper??? Can't get a straight answer out of ANY so-called microwave expert on this matter!!!! Anyone on the planet having accurate knowledge on this issue?????????????
