While many bakers use food processors to blend butter with dry ingredients, some prefer the control and tactile feel of cutting in butter with a manual pastry blender.

Pastry blenders tend to be somewhat flimsy and hard to clean, especially if they're made with wires on the bottom. And the handles are often uncomfortable to use for very long.
