    The Philips PD9000/37 offers a nine inch LCD screen which is larger than many other models. Picture quality is good for a portable DVD player while the rechargeable battery offers an impressive five hours of continuous playback on average. The built-in speakers deliver a good amount of volume while an AV outlet allows for hooking the DVD player up to an external screen such as a TV in a hotel room.

    The PD9000/37 is compatible with most CDs and DVDs, including DivX support as well. In the event of any interruptions it will remember where your movie was stopped last, the car mount pouch allows easy installation on the back of a headrest, and there’s also a remote included. Despite being an older model, the Philips PD9000/37 offers a tremendous amount of performance and value.

      The GPX PD901W opens up and can be propped up on flat surfaces much like you would with a tablet and case, making it good for situations where a bulkier DVD player might be cumbersome. The PD901W can also mount easily on the back of a headrest, making it suitable for long road trips. The nine inch screen has good picture quality, and while the sound isn’t the best, you have options for using headphones.

      This portable DVD player has support for multiple media formats, including CDs and image discs as well as multi region support. There’s also an included remote control, power adapters for both the home and car, and a rechargeable battery offering up to about two hours of use.

The built-in speaker is adequate for most purposes, and the headphone jack allows for private listening. The SC-257A comes with an AC adapter to use at home, while battery life is around two hours. However, what stands out most is the inclusion of a built-in digital TV tuner which allows for accessing digital channel programming from anywhere reception is available. The Supersonic SC-257A is a great choice if you want the versatility of being able to watch your favorite shows as well as movies.
