Best Red Wine 1969

1969 is a vintage that is more endearing intellectually than it is gastronomically. Whether for the obvious connotation or the quality that was once present, finding wines from ‘69 can be very tricky as many have long since died. That said, the top of the list has plenty to offer and well-preserved wines in cold cellars will often overachieve expectations. 1969 is largely a lost vintage in Bordeaux, though top Burgundy is tough to beat and California had a few sneaky favorites to offer.
