I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio. This is the WORST washing machine I have ever owned. It goes off balance. It spins your clothes into knots. There have been occasions where the top piece of laundry does not even get wet. When you wash sheets it makes a "mushroom top" with one of the sheets and the other sheet is in knots underneath. This washing machine makes doing laundry a nightmare!!!
I happen to agree. Whirlpool should only be bought in general for price point. On the lower end, you know what your getting and the risks. The more you pay, the more you expect perfect operation, a task that Whirlpool and GE(unless it's profile) are currently not able to meet in the realm of large appliances.
If you are dead set on Whirlpool, please consider the Whirlpool WTW4850XQ. It does much better with durability and, as a much simpler machine, will be more like the top loaders of old. It also can be found at most Best Buy's and Sears for a great price(under $400 on sale).
Happy Shopping,
