This list was an easy one. It's about how the ability for a couple to get two seats alone without having to climb over anyone else.

I combined the A330 and A340 because the interior design is identical. Nearly every airline uses a 2-4-2 configuration, so you're likely to get room on the side together. There's a slight chance of being stuck in the two middle seats, but that's a relatively small chance....

It all depends which airline you fly, but many of them use a 2-5-2 configuration. Your chances of getting two on the side are good, but being stuck in the middle is an increasingly likely possibility. Some airlines are using a 3-3-3 or, frighteningly, a 3-4-3 configuration...

The brand new behemoth of the skies offers a mixed bag for couples. The main deck always has 3-4-3 in coach which isn't exactly ideal for getting alone time, but some airlines (so far only Singapore) will have coach upstairs as well, and that offers a 2-4-2 configuration. ...

Why it's a best pick:
This plane is usually in the uncomfortable 3-4-3 configuration, but as the fuselage narrows at the back, there are a couple of rows with 2 on each side. If you can snag one of those, you'll be lucky except for the fact that you're likely right next to the lav. Yuck....
