BMW without question makes the best performance diesel on the market today and that is the 3.0 liter unit found under the hood of the 335d. Yes, I said performance diesel. While 265 horsepower is just a little more than 328i the 335d has more torque than even the M3. And torque is the power reading that really will tell you how fast a car feels.

This car accelerates so strongly especially at freeway speeds that you have to be judicious with the throttle or else you will find yourself parked in the trunk of the car in front of you. The engine is also very smooth and you get better highway mileage than a Honda Civic.
