The D-Link DGS-1024D is a serious switch. This rack-mount behemoth is built for medium to large businesses that need to connect a ton of computers. On the back of this D-Link switch you’ll find a total of 24 ports. That’s right – 24. Obviously, only the largest organizations will need to connect such a large number of computers.
Despite the large number of ports, the D-Link DGS-1024D is not a Smart managed switch, a fact that may discourage some potential buyers. The D-Link DGS-1024D does support Jumbo Frames, however, and offers 500kb of buffer memory per port. It also features D-Link’s green technology, which in the case of a switch of this size may result in tangible power savings. It isn't cheap, but the price is actually pretty good for a switch with this many available ports.
