The Denon AVR-4810CI is one of the most feature-packed and best performing AV receivers available, making it an ideal choice for surround sound enthusiasts and audiophiles. This massive 44 pound receiver delivers nine channels of amplification and is rated at 140 watts per channel. The Audyssey DSX system allows you to take full advantage of a 9.1 speaker setup by providing an additional pair of Wide and Height channels. When using a 7.1 or 9.1 configuration, the DSX processor optimizes the surround sound processing, creating a more realistic front and rear soundstage. This receiver is also equipped with the Dolby Pro Logic IIz surround processor, which adds additional Height channels. But whether you are using a 5.1, 7.1, or 9.1 surround setup, the AVR-4810CI delivers superb audio performance that rivals the best AV receivers on the market.

The Denon 4810CI features built-in Wi-Fi, allowing you to stream audio and other media files from a networked PC. You can also stream music from Internet radio stations and other services such as Napster and Rhapsody. Theres also the capability to control the AV receiver via a networked computers web browser. If you prefer to use a wired connection, theres an Ethernet port as well. Setting up the Wi-Fi connection and mastering the networking features has a bit of a learning curve, but its well worth it considering all this receiver has to offer.

In addition to tremendous audio performance, this AV receiver also delivers excellent video performance from its Anchor Bay VRS processor and does a superb job upconverting any analog or digital signal to 1080p. HD connectivity is excellent with a total of 6 HDMI inputs (five in the back and one on the front panel), 2 HDMI outputs, 3 component video inputs, and 2 component outputs. There are also front and rear USB ports, which allow you to connect an iPod and operate it using the receivers GUI. This receiver also has a dual AM/FM tuner with support for HD Radio, as well as connectivity options for Sirius and XM satellite radio.

Though this receivers sheer amount of features and connectivity options will intimidate beginners, the Audyssey MultEQ XT auto setup program does an excellent job automatically configuring your audio system for your home theater room. This receiver also features Audyssey Dynamic Volume, which automatically lowers the volume when watching TV to compensate for annoying volume changes (with commercials for example).

If youre looking for a feature-packed high end AV receiver and the Denon AVR-4810CI is in your price range, it should be at the top of your list. With phenomenal audio and video performance, nine amplifier channels, and excellent networking and surround sound features, the 4810CI is well worth its $2,999 price tag. Rating: 4/5
