Epson Perfection V750-M PRO Flatbed Scanner
The Epson Perfection V750-M Pro is for serious amateur photographers and even professionals who refuse to settle for "good enough" when they can do better. It offers a 6400 pixel per inch optical resolution and high quality optics that ensure it can actually resolve images at, or close to, that level of detail. In addition to templates to hold 12 35-mm slides or 24 frames of 35-mm film in place on its flatbed, it comes with templates for 2.25-inch, 6- by 20-centimeter, 4- by 5-inch, 120, 220, and 8- by 10-inch formats.
The scan utilities that come with the V750-M give you a choice for scanning in modes that range from fully automatic to fully manual with highly sophisticated control over color adjustment and other features.
For faded originals, the software includes an easy to use color restore feature, and for scathed originals, the hardware and software offers Digital ICE, which does a particularly good job of digitally removing scratches that show on color, but not black and white, originals. For removing scratches from black and white film, it also comes with a fluid mount kit, which is a little tricky to use, but worth the effort if you want the best possible scans from scratched black and white film.
