Yes-many of the MMORPGs out there look, feel and act the same, and there is some issue of how to distinguish one from the next. And whereas Final Fantasy XI doesn’t have that much difference in terms of gameplay, we need always to acknowledge the MM part of MMORPGs-namely, how “massively multi-player” it is. Obviously, the more MM it is, the more interaction we get-and this one, maybe because of the “Final Fantasy” name alone, maybe for other reasons-is an up and comer. The popularity of an MMORPG is a serious issue as there are always server issues as MMORPGs gain more players-and if there isn’t a solid company behind it-these can just kill the game (other issues such as game balance, bugs, etc that need to get ironed out are also related to this delicate interplay of game growth and the resources of the company behind it). The makers of Final Fantasy XI addressed these issues almost immediately-and the result is a smooth playing game that is gaining numbers daily. Join the fun!
