Fractal Design Define R4
Another strong showing from Fractal Design, this case offers a simple and elegant design with a stately appearance manufactured with both silent operation and hardware comparability in mind. At the front you have a door with acoustic material for sound deadening which opens to reveal two exposed 5.25 inch bays and mounts for two fans. The same sort of acoustic material is included with the side panel to ensure quiet operation.
Cooling options include mounts for two 120/140 millimeter fans in the top and front of the case and single fans of the same size in the bottom and rear of the case. A fan controller is included to vary the speed of up to three fans and radiators up to 240 millimeters can be accommodated. Overall the cooling options are good but they’re not particularly impressive either.
There are eight expansion slots and high-end GPU's up to 430 millimeters may be used if the top drive cages are removed. Two removable drive cages accommodate up to eight 2.5/3.5 inch HDD and SSD's while two more 2.5 inch drive may be mounted on the back of the motherboard tray, making for outstanding drive flexibility. At this price point it is hard to do anything but recommend this case for serious consideration since there’s so much to like about it
