Intel Pentium Processor G3258 4 BX80646G3258
While the base specs on this CPU aren't amazing, it's the unlocked potential of this processor that really makes it shine. It has just two physical cores with no support for hyperthreading. There's 3MB of cache memory and it comes out of the box running at just 3.2GHz, which isn't amazing, but is pretty average for the current generation of Intel Pentium processors. What sets this apart from every other Pentium processor is it uses the 22nm Haswell architecture and is completely unlocked for overclocking. With a very steady power supply and decent cooling, stable speeds up to 4.6GHz have been pretty easily achieved. While that's not amazing compared to a CPU that costs several hundred dollars, the Pentium G3258 comes in at just around $70 retail and offers amazing speed/performance once properly overclocked.
