  At just under $1000, the Kenwood DNX5140 hardly qualifies as a ‘budget’ unit. If you’re willing to pay for premium performance, however, you will be rewarded. You get a bright, 6.1-inch full color touchscreen that’s used to display the interface, navigation maps, and DVD playback. The navigation function is by Garmin, and thus includes the detailed maps, high number of relevant POIs, and an intuitive interface. Text-to-speech guidance is also included in the mix, so street names are announced with the turn. iPod support through the touchscreen interface is available as well, through the use of an adapter cable. While the Kenwood DNX5140 may be expensive for a ‘budget’ unit, its feature set justifies spending the extra bit of money....read less
