Why it's a best pick:
The Kenwood DNX-5140 shows that you can get a full-featured in-dash navigation unit for under $1000. First of all, the navigation is by Garmin instead of an in-house effort. This means that you get Garmin’s gorgeous high-detail maps and well-sorted guidance, along with the familiar user interface. The design of the front panel is well-contained, with a large full-color touchscreen flanked by a line of frequently-used controls to the left. You’re offered a variety of connection options, from a USB input to an auxiliary input to connect your gadgets. The DNX-5140 offers full iPod support with touchscreen control, and is capable of playing audio files with great sound quality thanks to the 24-bit digital-to-analog converter and the powerful built-in amplifier. Whichever way you look at it, the Kenwood DNX-5140 is an excellent choice for an in-dash navigation stereo for under $1000.

Had Pioneer Navs prior to this and they always failed. So glad to have a unit that actually works and you can never go wrong with Garmin Navigation. ;read full review
