Why it's a best pick:
The LG 55LH90 features LED backlighting with local dimming technology to produce superb picture quality, making this one of the best performing HDTVs on the market. Just like the stand-out Panasonic G10/G15 and V10 series plasmas, this LCD TV comes with THX display certification. When set to the THX mode, the 55LH90 delivers an extremely accurate and realistic picture. And if you’re an experienced calibrator, the set’s expert modes provide a 10-point white balance system and a full color management system for dialing in a picture exactly to your liking. The LG 55LH90 outperforms most LCDs and nearly matches the performance of the best plasmas with its extremely deep black levels, excellent color, and solid video processing. This set also has very good sound quality for a TV, making it an even better value. While it lacks interactive connectivity features found on some of its competitors, this helps to keep the cost down and provide buyers with maximum bang-for-the-buck in terms of performance.

Manufacturer Description: LED performance and a stylish, color-infused design. Unlike other LED HDTVs that use "edge" lighting, LG's LH90 uses a full array of LED backlights which employ a local dimming technology for precise picture control, resulting in deeper blacks, a wide color gamut and smooth motion for a more natural picture.

Why it's not included in a certain retailers...read full review

Recieved 5 StarsOutstanding LCD TV with LED Backlighting, August 11, 2009

I bought this TV from our local BestBuy. I had been looking at the Samsung edge-lit LED/LCD line. The LG TV rep happened to be at the Fort Worth store, and he was really helpful. I've had the TV now for three four days, and I couldn't be happier.

The TV is used in a well-lit living area, making the matte screen useful. I have looked...read full review

Recieved 3 StarsLip synch issue with Cable TV Box, August 1, 2009

Picture is excellent (5 stars). I have a bright room with lots of sunshine. So I needed a LCD/LED TV with matted screen. This one worked for me perfectly - except for audio (0 star):

I use Time Warner Digital Cable box to get HiDef Channels. When I connect it using HDMI 1.3b cable, the audio LAGs the video by about 1/2 second. ...read full review
