Poor LG Customer Service Kills This Phone, August 31, 2009

Unfortunately the phone broke after 3 months of use; the internal lcd panel developed a crack. The real tragedy was the customer disservice I had to deal with when I tried to execute the manufacturers' warranty. I sent the phone into LG customer service with the verbal agreement that the phone would be returned within 5 business days. 8 business days later I was asked to fax in a copy of the receipt, with a verbal agreement that the phone would be received in 4 business days. 6 business days later the original phone arrived, saying that they could not replicate the problem. A red arrow was stuck to the front of the screen highlighting a defect in the screen protector I put on to protect the screen. Considering the phones display would only light up bright white, I am guessing that the service techs didn't even turn on the phone. The documentation also said I could have the phone fixed for $45, unless a proof of purchase was shown. Calling customer service the story changed again, saying it was sent back because proof of purchase was not received, and that I could send the phone in again (on my dime) and they could fix it for $45. When I presented proof of my original fax they sent me prepaid next-day air labels and a verbal promise to return the phone in 48 hours. I called customer service the next day to help them with the problem, instructing them that they must actually turn on the phone to see the issue (didn't originally think I needed to tell them this). After 36 hours I called customer service to find out what was going on, the customer service group said that no 48 hour agreement existed and that the phone had been shipped GROUND - I would receive it in 3-4 days. I finally received the phone after 28 days.

During this process I sent an email to a regional manager in LG named David Becco. He called me the next day to find out who had given me his information. It was obvious to me that he wanted this person fired. He just kept saying "I want the name". He tried to bribe me with a new phone. He said he could do nothing to help me unless I gave him the name. After 10 minutes of trying to unsuccessfully find out the name he told me that he was busy and the phone call should end.

David Becco and the customer service group are prime examples of what is wrong with LG phones. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS - they maybe nice phones but heaven help you if they break.

Great plan for the money, November 13, 2009

We purchased an LG phone for our 14 year old son about 6 months ago. We have had no problems with the phone or the service. I would highly recommend for anyone considering a phone for their child. The parantel controls are fantastic.

Got this phone as an upgrade for my daughter's Kajeet phone for her birthday. Kajeet registered the phone incorrectly and could not activate the phone. After talking with "customer service" daily for a week and having them refuse to send another phone until we returned and repurchased another phone we finally gave up and went with another company. Even though the entire problem was their fault the still refuse to return our pre-paid account money stating that the terms of the contract allows them to keep the money. I am making a personal mission to warn parents about what a mess this company is. Don't buy anything through Kajeet, they have billing problems, no customer service and you will end up being sorry. You'll be happy with this or any phone through another company. minimize
