Why it's best:
The Makita is part of the Makita LXT series. It will accept 2 different 18 volt batteries a 1.5 amp hour or the larger 3.0 both are Makita Li-Ion. It produces 450 inch pounds of torque. It weighs only 3.5 pounds. Makita’s battery charger has a fan to cool the battery and communicates with a chip in the battery to provide “Active 3 Control” which actively controls the current the voltage and the temperature for the fastest possible safe recharging. Makita claims 15 minute recharging. There are more than 35 tools in the Makita LXT series which will accept these batteries. The warranty is one year for the charger and batteries 3 years for the tool.
