Marantz SR7008 9.2-Channel 1080P and 4K Ultra HD Home Theater Receiver
Marantz's newest flagship receiver promises reference-quality performance at a tremendous value. For around $2,000, the SR7008 offers a 9.2-channel configuration with 125 watts per channel. Discrete amplification keeps noise and interference levels low, delivering sound output that will please even the ears of an audiophile.
The design of the SR7008 is pleasing to the eye, with a sleek and minimalistic style and as with the previous SR7005, the front-panel controls are mostly hidden behind a flip-down cover. Connectivity is improved from the last model, offering a total of seven HDMI inputs with both 4K and 3D passthrough, and three HDMI outputs. There’s plenty more options for expansion and customization of your setup, including a phono input, 7.1-channel analog surround inputs, and 11.2-channel pre-outs.
Although the SR7008 does not include built-in WiFi, internet streaming is available via Ethernet or AirPlay, Bluetooth can be added with a separate wireless adapter, and setup is simple thanks to the built-in Audyssey MultEQ room calibration. While the design and features contributing to the stellar performance of the Marantz SR7008 are too numerous to list in-depth, this receiver is a true high-end product, and would be well suited to a serious home theater environment.
