Why it's a best pick:
Samsung’s B650 series improves upon last year’s A650 series LCD TVs, which were praised for their combination of performance and value. The LN46B650 offers superb picture quality and is one of the best performing HDTVs available. Black levels are very deep, colors are very accurate, and there are plenty of adjustable settings for fine-tuning. However, the screen is very glossy, which may be a problem in brightly lit rooms. Similar to the B750 series and UNB6000/7000 series, the B650 series offers excellent video processing. One of the most welcome features is customizable dejudder processing, which lets you adjust judder and blur settings separately. While this set doesn’t offer a 240Hz refresh rate like the B750, you’ll be hard pressed to see a significant difference.

The B650 series includes Yahoo! widgets and access to information such as weather, news, and stocks. Connectivity is sufficient with 4 HDMI inputs, 2 component inputs, and a PC input. This set also includes 2 USB ports and an Ethernet port that can be used to download firmware updates.

Overall, this HDTV is an excellent choice for anyone seeking an affordable HDTV with excellent picture quality. While it can’t match the performance of the B750 series, it’s without a doubt one of the best performing LCD TVs available. It also can’t beat the best plasmas, but is far more energy efficient, which makes it a great alternative.

Manufacturer Description: If you haven't seen Samsung's Touch of Color design, you haven't seen an HDTV this beautiful. A hint of rich red in the bezel creates a sophisticated look. The Media 2.0 feature lets you access countless hours of content from Yahoo! and Flickr. Auto Motion Plus 120Hz technology renders the most lifelike action. And DLNA technology means you can harness your entire home...read full description

Better than I expected. Get the Blue Ray... I watched a movie on it the other night... Never knew what I was missing! This TV has all the bells & whistles...read full review

Recieved 5 StarsSamsung makes great TVs... 5 stars for this model!, April 12, 2009

There are lots of in-depth reviews of this TV on the web, so I won't go in to too much detail here. I will say that the picture quality is awesome on this model, and that I'm very happy with my purchase. The red touch of color isn't too obvious (I still wish Samsung would abandon the TOC though). The swivel base is nice, too.

Recieved 5 StarsB650 vs.A650, April 10, 2009

It should be noted that I have not purchased this TV. I did spend several hours comparing the two versions at Best Buy and this is what I found:
The B650 has a MUCH clearer picture. And by "clearer", I mean more defined with a sharper contrast, brighter whites and darker darks.

I attribute this to the doubling of the contrast...read full review

Recieved 5 StarsLove this TV, April 6, 2009

This TV has an astounding picture quality. Read all of the reviews of the A model, listened to sales people in the store and went with the B which is the 2009 model. I am not a techie so you will need to look elsewhere for that but I would highly recommend this TV. One little note, the manual is located on a Flashdrive that plugs into the TV....read full review
