P. Mauriat PMXA-67RX Series Professional Alto Saxophone
The P. Mauriat PMXA-67RX is equipped with a large bell for a bigger sound. In addition, the finger bottons on the keys are made of nickel-silver and oversized for pleasing finger placement and to increase horn vibration. This horn has rolled tone holes, which give more of a surface for pads to seal and avoid leakage. P. Mauriats process of tone hole rolling uses the metal of the horn without the need for additional soldering, allowing the horn to resonant naturally and evenly. In addition, the intonation, or the ability to play in tune, is consistent throughout the range of the saxophone. Applied through a three-stage process, this alto saxophone's comes standard in a vintage dark lacquer for a unique, full sound. The PMXA-67RX is the most affordable horn on this list, and is also available in an unlacquered model.
