Panasonic HC-X920 3D Ready HD 3MOS Digital Camcorder with Wi-fi
Panasonic’s 3MOS design utilizes three CMOS sensors to independently capture individual colors meaning better color resolution and reproduction. Manual controls, sharp images, and good low light performance will grab the attention of video enthusiasts. The fast f/1.5 Leica Dicomar lens and the 3MOS sensor make shooting in dark situations much less stressful than many similar camcorders. Panasonic added a WiFi feature for remote control of the camera via a smartphone or tablet via a QR code option to quickly scan and connect your smartphone to the camera. Streaming to Ustream is also an option as is streaming directly to a compatible HDTV.
Image stabilization is very solid on this camera, utilizing a 5-axis hybrid optical and digital stabilization to get rid of motion blurring and shakiness. A condenser mic on board can record 5.1 surround sound but it’s not ideal for most situations outside of ambient recording. A 3D conversion lens (sold separately) transforms the camera into a 3D recording device and while not terribly useful, it could be fun to experiment with. The LCD is a touch screen like many in this category but unfortunately it’s highly reflective. Ultimately, this camera is impressive and has the tools you need to get out and shoot.
