Why it's a best pick:
The Panasonic TC-P42X1 is simply an exceptional value. With a price tag that dips below $600 from online merchants, this 42” plasma TV is the best way for buyers on a budget to purchase a large HDTV for their living room or bedroom. It performs extremely well for the money and offers very deep blacks that rival more expensive competitors. Color accuracy is not as good as Panasonic’s higher-end plasmas such as the S1 or G10/G15 series, but still quite impressive for the price. And while the panel is only 720p, it’ll be hard to notice a difference at this screen size. This HDTV packs 3 HDMI inputs, 2 component inputs, 2 composite inputs and S-Video for connecting your equipment. With a killer price and great performance, the Panasonic TC-P42X1 is highly recommended for any buyer looking to maximize their dollar.

Manufacturer Description: The X1 Series Plasma HDTVs are ideal for sports, movies and gaming, with crisp, focused images during fast-moving scenes. The 600Hz Sub-field Drive produces crisp, focused images for sports, dramatic action, and all other fast-moving scenes. Your full-HD movies and games never looked sharper. VIERA Image Viewer provides a better way to share your digital photos. Just pop...read full description

Recieved 5 StarsAwesome TV and Delivery Service, April 26, 2009

I purchased this from Amazon.com, with the scheduled delivery from CEVA. Ordered last sunday, delivery was one week later. Having the option of sunday delivery was great, and the delivery was very professional and definitely white glove.

Two people brought the TV in (carrying properly as this is a plasma), opened the box, put the TV...read full review

Recieved 5 StarsMuch better than LCD!, April 3, 2009

Currently, I have 4 HDTVs in my house. Sony Bravia LCD (less than 1 year old and it is a 1080P), Sony HD Cineza (1080i) in my theater room, Panasonic Plasma EDTV (about 9 years old which I pay a lot of money for it when Plasma first came out) and the newly purchased Panasonic VIERA X1 Series TC-P42X1 (720P). I can tell you that this Plasma is...read full review

Recieved 5 StarsI made the right choice! Love this TV!, May 13, 2009

So I wont write a book about this TV, but I'll share my experience best I can.

I spent months deciding on a TV. Did I want LCD or Plasma? 50" or 40"? Panasonic, Sony, or Samsung? Etc etc. I even went to a couple stores and looked at them, that only helped to further confuse the situation.

So after lots of reading online...read full review

Recieved 5 StarsI's a poppin, June 25, 2009

I did a pretty large amount of research into HDTV before I chose this unit. I have been in the IT business for about 30 years now, and I have seen everything from CRT to LCD for small/medium/large/incomprehensible stuff. One thing about LCD screens is that no matter how one tunes the output, many of them produce obvious ghost lines (look...read full review

Recieved 5 StarsGreat 42" plasma, March 21, 2009

I am not a television expert by an means except for having watched it too much for too many years. That being said, this TV has a great picture, more connections than you could ask for and super sound. (Point of fact: it replaced a 32" conventional tv that was 10 years old.) Right now, I am watching the NCAA tourney and I can tell you which...read full review
