Why it's best:
If you’re looking for an affordable HDTV that delivers superb picture quality, the Panasonic TC-P50G15 is nearly impossible to beat. It is one of the best performing HDTVs on the market with incredibly deep black levels and accurate color rendition. This plasma TV’s THX mode provides optimal picture settings for an extremely accurate and realistic picture, but if you find the picture to be too dark, you may prefer using Custom mode. The Panasonic TC-P50G15 also offers solid image processing and motion performance and is a good choice for gamers seeking a 50” HDTV.

The Panasonic TC-P50G15 also boasts VieraCast, which provides access to interactive Internet services such as Amazon Video on Demand, YouTube and Picasa over Ethernet. Connectivity is sufficient with 3 HDMI ports (2 in the rear, 1 on the side), 2 component inputs, 2 composite inputs, S-video, and a PC input (VGA). Since it’s a plasma TV it’s not as efficient as competing LCD models, but still an improvement over plasmas from previous years. The slim, sleek styling of the G15 series ensures it will look terrific in any viewing room. Overall, the Panasonic TC-P50G15 is an excellent choice for anyone seeking a top performing HDTV that won’t break the bank. It truly is one of the best values on the market and its picture quality will satisfy even the most hardcore videophiles.

Manufacturer Description: Just 4-inch thick, the TC-P50G15 plasma HDTV brings a meaning to the term flat panel. Beyond good looks, the G15-series boasts a 1080p Neo PDP infinite black panel with a 40,000:1 native contrast ratio and an Anti-Reflective screen. Designed to network, your plasma is internet-capable with VIERA Cast. An industry-standard THX-certification means smooth images and...read full description

Recieved 5 StarsExceeds Expectation (Don't be fooled by the showroom), July 3, 2009

I purchased this TV almost a week ago and so far color me impressed. I have to admit, while in the stores I was not impressed by this TV at all. Most of the other sets appeared to have more color and vibrance to them. In the store this G15 appeared to be very dull in color and over contrasted. My brother who sells televisions to the RV industry...read full review

Recieved 3 StarsGreat TV, July 16, 2009

I've had a G15 for a couple of weeks now and I haven't had any issues except for one. It turns out their highly touted THX setting has some bugs. The picture looks too green and yellow. They claim to have a firmware fix that doesn't seem to fix the problem.

I've read that you need version 1.2 of the firmware and when downloading you...read full review

OK I'll add a little more but it will not be an objective, technical review. It will contain a whole bunch of superlatives and emotional comments.

EMOTIONAL PART
THIS BAD BOY IS BAD!! Wonderful colors, contrast, blacks. The picture pops and everything. I have watched Planet Earth, Batman: Dark Knight and other Blu-rays on the...read full review

Recieved 5 StarsExcellent buy on an excellent product!, October 9, 2009

I rarely take the time to write product reviews, but in this case I felt like it was really worthwhile. I spent a few months researching TVs and I am always reading in forums, checking showrooms, etc. There are some fantastic TVs out there on both Plasma and LCD sides (LEDs still too expensive in my mind). After countless hours looking at all my...read full review

Recieved 5 StarsAwesome TV, September 14, 2009

I will spare the technical jargon. This is my first Hi-Def TV and I am thrilled with it. I am purposely late to the game because I had a previous Panasonic just wouldn't die! I decided not to miss another NFL season without Hi-Def. I did a TON of research and came up with this. It is everything I would have hoped. Set up was very easy and I...read full review
