Picture quality is very good especially when it comes to black level performance, delivering deeper blacks than many more expensive competitors. While the panel is only 720p, it’ll be hard to notice a difference unless you’re watching native 1080p content such as Blu-ray movies. There are 3 HDMI inputs, 2 component inputs, 2 composite inputs and S-Video for connecting your gear. While Panasonic’s higher-end plasma offer benefits such as 1080p resolution, deeper black levels, superior color accuracy and VieraCast, if you’re on a budget, the Panasonic TC-P50X1 is your best bet.
