Pro Co, the company that brought you the RAT pedal back in the 1980s, has since introduced a version for the electric bass. Capable of light to heavy overdrive, the Juggernaut distorts only the high and mid frequencies, letting the lows pass unscathed without any loss of definition. The level is controlled by the Volume control, with the Amount control handling the distortion. The Tone control filters in a solid low end so the bottom doesn't drop out of your sound, and the Mix knob combines the clean and dirty signals. Plus it has its own effects loop that can control other connected effects. And as with all RAT effects, it's built to last. Ideal for power trios. Rating: 4.5/5
