Why it's a best pick:
The Samsung UNB6000 series is nearly identical to the UNB7000 series in terms of design and performance, but sells for a couple hundred dollars less. The key difference is that its network connectivity is very limited and does not provide access to Yahoo! widgets. Other than that, the Samsung 55UB6000 is sure to satisfy consumers looking for an ultra-stylish and energy efficient HDTV.
Just like the Samsung UN55B7000, this HDTV is incredibly thin (1.2-inches). It uses edge-lit LED backlighting technology and is extremely energy efficient – it consumes significantly less power than plasmas and conventional LCD TVs. Overall performance is very good with solid video processing, accurate colors and color temperature, fairly deep black levels, and plenty of adjustment options to obtain an optimal picture. However, there are some flaws such as backlight fluctuation and uniformity issues. Connectivity is sufficient as long as you don’t need to connect a lot of older analog devices. There are 4 HDMI inputs, a PC input, two USB ports, and an Ethernet port. The Ethernet port provides access to Samsung’s InfoLink service, which gives you stock quotes, real-time weather, and news. The Ethernet port also can be used for updating the firmware.

Though it’s expensive, the Samsung UN55B6000 offers impressive overall performance and superb energy efficiency. This LCD TV’s striking design and great picture quality ensures it will be a crowd pleaser and look terrific in any living room. Available in 40”, 46” and 55” sizes.

Plus Touch of Color design complements any room. The Samsung UN55B6000 LED TV uses 40 percent less power than...read full description

Recieved 4 StarsGreat TV if one can figure out how to use it., April 26, 2009

My family and I just love this TV, particularly for watching sports. We looked at a lot of LCD and Plasmas but saw none that gave us the sense of depth this one does. It is like 3D. Moreover, our family room is also a sun room during the day but the picture is just as strong in the day time as it is when the room is dark. The viewing angle is...read full review

Recieved 4 StarsEnjoying the Samsung UN55B6000 HDTV, June 22, 2009

Image Quality and Connectivity:

This Samsung UN55B6000 is excellent technology and priced to move. We've got it hooked up to a cable box (MOT DCT 6200) via the 1 component connection and the image is sharp and crispy and the colors are vivid and bright.

We have an older PC connected via the VGA connection and the 3.5mm...read full review

Recieved 1 Starsbuyer beware, September 13, 2009

After only 3 weeks of owning this TV, the TV randomly shut off on its own while we were watching TV. Now the TV constantly just turns on and turns off (with no actual image being displayed on the screen). The only way to shut it off is to disconnect it from the main power source. Called Samsung and apparently it's an issue with the power supply,...read full review

Recieved 5 StarsOutstanding Picture Quality, October 29, 2009

Pros: Excellent picture clarity, amazing colors, 120hz works exceptionally well with progressive scan (ie 720p, 1080p)

Cons: Expensive, backlighting (actually, it's edge lighting on this model) is a little uneven in the corners. While watching credits at the end of a movie, you can see light and dark patches when the background is...read full review

Recieved 5 StarsAmazon.com is a wonderful way to shop, November 18, 2009

This purchase was just so very simple we couldn't believe it. We are sold on shopping this new way for us. We absolutely love our TV. The men came in, took it out of the box, set it up and pluged it in to see if it worked and we were set to go. So simple. Also we couldn't believe the price. We did shop around to see what we wanted. Amazon...read full review
