Sony HDRPJ340 Video Camera
Full of impressive features, the HRD-PJ340 records full 1080p HD at 60 frames per second (fps). While this prevents your images from having a traditionally cinematic look, the frame rate will keep motion looking fluid, even during high action recording like sports. Clear Voice and Face Detection modes enhance audio frequencies within the range of the human voice when a face is detected. Face Detection on its own can identify eight individual faces and adjusts focus, exposure, and white balance to best suit them.
The most unique feature by far on this camera is the built-in 13 lumen projector. While 13 lumens aren’t particularly bright (even most cheap pocket projectors have upwards of 25 lumens), it’s serviceable and can project and image up to 100 diagonally. Plus, with the new HDMI input on the camera, not only can you display videos you’ve shot but project content from your computer, laptop, or smartphone as well.
Built-in WiFi allows users to remotely operate and transfer content to a smartphone, tablet, or PC. 16 GB of internal memory gives you more than enough to record plenty of video with the AVCHD and MP4 codecs included on the camera. There’s also a built-in USB 2.0 cable which is nice for offloading footage but it feels awkward and unnecessary. Overall though, this camera has plenty of available tools and uses all of them to good effect for a great price.
