Specialized Demo 8 I Carbon

Expert Review

The Demo 8 is an adrenaline-boosting beast and if your rendition of a good time is flying downhill in a blur, this bike delivers. Specialized plugged in a new single-sided seat tube to save a chunk of weight and make for easy shock adjustments. A more compact back end lets the bike float over trail chatter and it responds with merely a twitch. The RockShox fork’s 200mm of travel absorbs hits like an underdog prize fighter and it looks good doing it, with clean lines and an alien bike from the future look. SRAM components drive the Demo with clockwork-precision shifting, grippy house brand tires lock to the trail, and the Fox rear shock dampens jarring bumps. This bike is primed for performance on the trail. A price tag flirting with the $6000 mark might sting, but the quality of the Demo 8 makes it hurt so good.Rating: 5/5
