A great chef's knife can cost hundreds of dollars, but our pick for the best chef's knife on the market is an incredible value. The 8-inch Chef's Knife by Victorinox Swiss Army has managed to keep costs low by using a high carbon, stamped stainless steel. In the past, forged steel was always preferred over stamped, but the stamping process has undergone numerous advancements over the years. The blade of this knife is incredibly sharp and has been conical ground so that it can keep its edge for longer. The handle is comfortable and slip resistant, even when it's wet. This knife is well balanced, lightweight, and a favorite with home cooks and professional chefs.Rating: 5/5

I only use and recommend ceramic knives because ceramic won't react with food or change its flavor. Ceramic Knives also will never rust and they hold their sharpness for a very long time and only have to be resharpened once a year.
