Whynter 12,000 BTU Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner Model ARC-12SD
The Whynter 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner Model ARC-12SD features a dual-hose exhaust system that uses one hose to draw air from the outside to cool the compressor and condenser coils while the remaining hose expels the air after it circulates through the unit. The use of a dual-exhaust system increases the Whynters cooling efficiency over single-exhaust portable air conditioners allowing it to quickly cool a 400 square foot area. The unit also uses environmentally-friendly R-410A refrigerant that does not deplete the earths ozone and helps to reduce the amount of energy the air conditioner uses. The unit has an electronic control panel and operating mode indicator lights to let you know when the unit is operating as an air conditioner, dehumidifier or as a fan only. The digital display shows the thermostat setting or the current room temperature when the unit operates as a fan or dehumidifier. The fully-functional remote controls all the features on the Whynter portable air conditioner including the fan speed, changing the thermostat, and setting the 24-hour timer. This model utilizes a patented auto-drain function to expel all condensate through the exhaust hose, rather than use the internal reservoir to capture the moisture. When you use the unit as a dehumidifier, it can capture up to 96 pints of water a day, but you must connect a drain hose to the bottom of the unit to drain the condensate from the reservoir. The Whynter 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner model ARC-12SD weighs 71 pounds, its footprint measures 17 by 15 1/2 inches, and it stands 31 inches tall, but its four casters allow you to maneuver the unit easily from room to room. The air conditioner comes with a 1-year warranty and a 3-year warranty on the compressor.
